This Order amends the Community Provisions (Restrictive Measures – Syria) (Jersey) Order 2012 ("principal Order") to give effect in Jersey to Council Regulation (EU) No. 509/2012 of 15th June 2012 (OJ L 156/10 16.6.2012) ("amending Regulation"). This Regulation amends Regulation (EU) No. 36/2012 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Syria ("Council Regulation"). The amending Regulation sets out prohibitions and derogations that relate to the supply of equipment, goods and technology to persons, bodies and entities in Syria and includes prohibitions and derogations concerning related technical and financial assistance.

Article 1 defines the principal Order.

Article 2 amends the definition of the Council Regulation in the principal Order to include the amending Regulation.

Article 3 amends the principal Order by omitting certain provisions in the amending Regulation which do not have effect in Jersey.

Article 4 amends the principal Order so that activities prohibited by the amending Regulation (and by a previous amending Regulation, that is Council Regulation (EU) No. 168/2012 of 27 February 2012 (OJ L 54/1, 28.2.2012)) are criminal offences under Jersey law.

Article 5 provides that this Order will come into effect on the day after it is made. The Order was made on 22nd June 2012 and came into force on 23rd June 2012.

R&O.78/2012

This Order extends the transitional period for which benefits in kind are to continue to be valued in accordance with the rules that applied in 2011, for the purposes of determining a person's earnings or income from self-employment. The transitional period is extended to the end of 2012.

The Order was made on 22nd June 2012 and came into force on 23rd June 2012.
