Explanatory Note regarding subordinate legislation tabled at this meeting. (See Item B)

This Order increases the limits on expenses that may be charged to a third-party motor insurer for treatment of a victim of a road traffic accident. The increase applies to treatment arising from accidents occurring on or after 1st April 2014.

The revised expenses limits are the same as those that apply in the United Kingdom under the NHS Injury Cost Recovery Scheme with effect from 1st April 2014.

The Order was made on 12th March 2014 and comes into force on 1st April 2014.
