R&O.128/2017.

Food (Registration of Premises) (Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2017.

This Order amends the Food (Registration of Premises) (Jersey) Order 2001 by making changes to the Schedules to that Order ("principal Order" as defined in Article 1).

Article 2 substitutes in Schedule 1 to the principal Order a new form for applying for registration of food premises. The new form requires additional information on several matters, including sanitary facilities, water supply and food safety training.

Article 3 deletes from Schedule 2 to the principal Order some of the exemptions from the requirement to register premises. The deletions cover premises not used for a food business for more than 7 days in 8 consecutive weeks; premises used for supply or sale of fish (other than for retail sale of fish) or harvesting food; dairies premises at which no food is intended for sale or human consumption; dairy farms and premises to which the Nursing and Residential Homes (Jersey) Law 1994 applies. Article 3 also deletes a reference to the repealed Children (Jersey) Law 1969 and clarifies that domestic premises used for private child fostering arrangements are exempt from registration.

Article 4 sets out the title of the Law and provides that it will come into force 7 days after the day it is made.

The Order was made on 7th December 2017 and comes into force on 14th December 2017.
