THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion -

On 7th July 1992 the States, adopting a proposition of Senator R.J. Shenton, "agreed to establish a Consultative Panel of elected members of the States with whom the Bailiff would be able to meet in order to consult on a confidential basis in appropriate cases".

The States agreed that the Panel would comprise -

th e se n io r Connétable

th e se n io r Deputy

th e P re s ident of the Policy and Resources Committee

th e P re s ident of the Finance and Economics Committee

th e P re s ident of the Establishment (now Human Resources) Committee and three members appointed by the States

Following the recent elections the ex officio members of the Panel are -

Pr e s id en t, Policy and Resources Committee (Senator P.F. Horsfall) Pr e s id en t, Finance and Economics Committee (Senator F.H. Walker ) Pr e s id en t, Human Resources Committee ( Deputy D.L. Crespel)

The States now need to appoint three members to serve on the Panel and I have pleasure in proposing -

who were members of the Panel as previously constituted, and Senator Corrie Stein.
