Report

The State established the Waterfront Enterprise Board (WEB) in 1995 as a separate legal entity to act as a development agency of the States for an initial ten-year period.

The Memorandum and Articles of Association provide for seven Directors, with three States Directors, three non-States Directors and the Managing Director. All States Directors and non-States Directors are appointed by the States, and the Managing Director is appointed by the Directors.

The States Directors were initially appointed for a fixed period expiring on 31st March 1997 and thereafter for fixed periods of three years expiring on 31st March in the relevant year or until such earlier date as the States might determine.

There are currently only two States Directors. They are Connétable R.L. Le Brocq and Deputy D.R. Maltwood. The third position has lately been vacant following the resignation of (then Senator) Deputy J.L. Dorey. The States Directors' current terms of office expire on 31st March. There is therefore a need to appoint three States Directors to new three-year terms of office.

The States are requested to re-appoint Connétable R.L. Le Brocq and Deputy D.R. Maltwood, and to appoint Deputy P.F. Routier, in each case until 31st March 2003.

The non-States Directors' terms of office expire in August and a further report and proposition will be brought to the States at that time.
