PROPOSITION
THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion -
(a ) to approve drawing nos. 2415/328, 329, 330, 331, 336 and 341 showing the layout of the new Control Room
to be located in the Prison, La Moye;
(b ) to authorise the Greffier of the States to sign the said drawings on behalf of the States. HOME AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Control Room is to provide a secure and central location for all communications and to enable its controllers to remotely oversee and control the Prison routine.
Recent developments and advances in Security exposed the limitations of the existing control area, both in location and as a functional unit, and in order to meet the Prison's obligations, further equipment and systems will be necessary in the new complex.
The designated site is south of the Administration block and east of the Services block, with access from both the car park and the main Prison compound. All mains services and communications links between this site and all other stations are practicable and easily accessible.
The Control Room complex will consist of two floors; the ground floor, housing a plant room and a locker room with areas for equipment storage and changing facilities; and the first floor, comprising main Control Room with Briefing Area. Secure Equipment Store and Plant Room. Both floors include domestic facilities.
Services to the air-conditioned building will rise from below ground, simplifying access and increasing security.
In all cases the choice of service systems and equipment has taken into account the possibility of increased demand in the future.
