PROPOSITION
THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion -
to r ef e r to their Act dated 9th November 1961 concerning the membership of the Manual Workers' Joint Council
and to their Acts dated 16th January and 19th June 2001, approving the Employer's Side for 2001, and to appoint with immediate effect Deputy Jeremy Laurence Dorey of St. Helier and Deputy Peter Nicholas Troy of St. Brelade in place of Senator C.G.P. Lakeman and the Deputy of Trinity .

The Employers' Side membership comprises six representatives of the States, one representative of the Parish of St. Helier, and one representative of the Connétable s. The Chief Executive of the States' Human Resources Department traditionally fulfils the role of Employers' Side Secretary, and the Director of Employee Relations from the Department becomes the Assistant Employers' Side Secretary.
Following the resignation of Deputy D.L. Crespel as President of the Human Resources Committee on 24th July 2001, Deputy J.L. Dorey was elected to the Presidency of that Committee on 31st July 2001.
It is proposed that Deputy Dorey fills the vacancy left by Deputy Crespel and Deputy Troy fills the vacancy left by Senator Lakeman as members of the Employers' Side of the Manual Workers' Joint Council, with immediate effect.
There are no additional financial or manpower implications for the States.
