to appoint Mrs. Mary Margaret Gaiger as a member of the Rent Control Tribunal, with immediate effect, and for the period ending on 12th April 2002.
HOUSING COMMITTEE
Report
Article 3 of the Dwelling Houses (Rent Control) (Jersey) Law 1946, as amended provides for the States to appoint a Rent Control Tribunal consisting of a Chairman and not less than three, nor more than four, other members.
Regulation 2 of the Dwelling Houses (Rent Control) (Jersey) Regulations 1946 states the Chairman and Members of the Tribunal shall hold office for a period of twelve months, ending on 12th April each year.
Following the resignation of an existing member, Mrs. Jill Meredith Clapham, as a result of her recent election to the post of Jurat of the Royal Court, Mrs. Mary Margaret Gaiger has allowed her name to be put forward for nomination for the period up to 12th April 2002.
The Committee accordingly has pleasure in nominating Mrs. Mary Margaret Gaiger to serve for the period ending on 12th April 2002.
There are no additional financial or manpower implications for the States arising from this proposition.
