The Family Allowances Tribunal meets to hear appeals from the public against the decisions of the determining officer appointed by the Employment and Social Security Committee on any question under the Family Allowances (Jersey) Law 1972. Since 1972, the Tribunal has been convened on less than ten occasions to hear appeals against the determining officer's decisions.
