STATES GREFFE

PROPOSITION

THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion

to r ef er to their Act dated 9th November 1961 concerning the membership of the Manual Workers' Joint

Council, and to appoint -

D  ep u ty M.F. Dubras of St. Lawrence

S e n a tor M.E. Vibert

M  r . J.D. Richardson, Chief Executive Officer, Public Services Department

M  r . A.J. Skinner, Director of Community and Social Services

as th e States' Representatives on the Employers' Side of the Manual Workers' Joint Council.

POLICY AND RESOURCES COMMITTEE

REPORT

The Employers' Side membership normally comprises 6 representatives of the States, one representative of the Parish of St. Helier, and one representative of the Connétable s. At this time however, the Policy and Resources Committee wishes to nominate only 4 representatives, with the 2 final places remaining vacant for the time being There will, in addition to the States' representatives, continue to be representatives of the Parish of St. Helier and the Connétable s on the Employers' Side. The Chief Executive of the States Human Resources Department traditionally fulfils the role of Employers' Side Secretary, and the Director of Employee Relations from the Department becomes the Assistant Employers' Side Secretary.

There are no additional financial or manpower implications for the States arising from this proposition.
