REPORT

The Executive Committee of the Jersey Branch of the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie (formerly known as the Assemblée Internationale de Parlementaires de Langue Française) was last formally constituted on 1st April 2003.

The Executive Committee elected the Connétable of St.  Ouen as its President on 30th March 2004 following the resignation from the States of the former Senator C.G.P.  Lakeman, and invited States members to indicate whether they would wish to become members of the Executive Committee. There is no pre-determined number of members that form the constitution of the Committee, the only pre-requisite being the ability to speak and read French to a high standard, so the names of all of the members seeking membership are put forward for approval by the States.

There are no financial or manpower implications for the States arising from this proposition.
