SHADOW PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE: APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER

Lodged au Greffe on 3rd February 2004 by Deputy S.C. Ferguson of St. Brelade

STATES GREFFE

PROPOSITION

THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion

to re f er to their Act dated 27th January 2004 in which they agreed to establish a Shadow Public Accounts

Committee and agreed that the Shadow Chairman should nominate for approval by the States a member to serve on the Committee, and –

to a p p o in t t h e Deputy of St.  Ouen as a member of the Shadow Public Accounts Committee for the

period ending 27th January 2005.

DEPUTY S.C. FERGUSON OF ST. BRELADE

REPORT

Following the decision of the States to establish a Shadow Public Accounts Committee I wish to nominate the Deputy of St. Ouen to this position. I believe Deputy Reed will be suitable for this role because he has shown a keen interest since his election in ensuring that value for money is obtained in relation to States' expenditure and he is not a member of the 2 Shadow Scrutiny Panels.

There are no financial or manpower implications arising from this proposition.
