YOUTH CUSTODY FOR PERSONS AGED 12 AND OVER (P.2/2004): ADDENDUM TO COMMENTS

Presented to the States on 20th April 2004 by the Education, Sport and Culture Committee

STATES GREFFE

COMMENTS

In its original report to the States on 6th April 2004, the Education, Sport and Culture Committee included a profile of a 15 year old female offender solely to illustrate the inability of the current system to meet the needs of such children. This profile was informed by data from the Probation Service criminal statistic database which was subsequently found to be incomplete in respect of this one case.

States Members are requested to note that the amendments set out below are in the interest of accuracy and do not in any way detract from the intended conclusions.
