r
CHÂTEAU LA CHAIRE, ROZEL, ST. MARTIN: USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS
Lodged au Greffe on 3rd February 2004 by the Deputy of St. John
STATES GREFFE
PROPOSITION
THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion
to a g ree that no further public funds should be committed to the restoration or development of the gardens
at Château La Chaire, Rozel, St. Martin, until the States have debated the project and approved any expenditure.
DEPUTY OF ST. JOHN
REPORT
As a result of questions I asked on the Château La Chaire garden on 3rd February 2004 and supplementary questions asked by other States members, the Vice-President of the Economic Development Committee could not confirm that the Assembly would have an opportunity to debate the proposed Château La Chaire Garden, Rozel, project. Therefore I believe that it is in the public interest that this matter be debated by the Assembly.
There are no additional financial or manpower implications arising out of this proposition which will, in fact, safeguard public funds.
