THE STATES are asked to decide whether they are of opinion
to a p point, in accordance with Regulation 3 of the Employment Tribunal (Jersey) Regulations 2005 and on
the recommendation of the Jersey Appointments Commission, the following person as a member of the Jersey Employment Tribunal with effect from 1st October 2005 and for the period shown –
Mr. Timothy Langlois 3 years.
EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SECURITY COMMITTEE
REPORT
Further recruitment has identified an additional Employment Tribunal Side Member with relevant experience, who meets the requirements of Regulation 2.
The Appointments Commission and the Employment and Social Security Committee are satisfied that the proposed member has knowledge and experience of trade unions or matters relating to employees generally'.
Mr. Langlois is currently a Systems Technician at Jersey Telecom Limited, having worked there for 20 years. H is the AMICUS Senior Representative for Jersey Telecom and is also a BBC Local Area Council Member.
It is believed that Mr. Langlois will be an important addition to the pool of members, from which two may be selected to form a three-person panel with the Chair or Deputy , when required.
Term of appointment
In accordance with the Regulations, a three-year term is proposed for Mr. Langlois in line with the Committee's policy of spreading the expiration of appointments to allow continuity in the composition of the Tribunal.
