PLANNING APPLICATIONS: REQUIREMENT TO PUBLICIZE (P.175/2004) COMMENTS

Presented to the States on 18th January 2005 by the Connétable of St. Martin

STATES GREFFE

COMMENTS

The Connétable s consider that, subject to certain conditions, it would be viable for applications for permission to develop land to be made available for public inspection at the Parish Hall in the Parish to which the application relates.

The Connétable s consider that it is essential that all amendments to plans must also be made available for public inspection at the Parish Hall and must be subject to the same criteria for inspection. It is not sufficient for only those amendments that are relevant to objectors' concerns to be made available.

However, the Connétable s wish to make it clear that Parish staff will not be able to answer any queries relating to plans or applications; the public will not be able to remove the plans from the Parish Hall and that, as inspection of the plans will not be supervised, the Parish will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to plans.
