REPORT

These Standing Order amendments are the final changes required to fully implement the historic reforms which the Assembly has adopted to its composition and the election process. The changes relating to the declaration form which is to be signed by election candidates should have been included in the earlier raft of Standing Order changes and its omission is an unfortunate oversight. However, it should be noted that the Jersey Electoral Authority is now in place and has revised the nomination form and associated documentation for use in the forthcoming elections, so the reference to Senators in that process has already been removed.

Financial and manpower implications

There are no financial or manpower implications associated with the approval of these Standing Order amendments.
