Currently resident on call 1 week in 7 weeks. During the week on call, doctors are responsible for dealing with urgent care requirements that arise during the night. Total hours during on

call week this would equate to more that 90 hours but:

 depending on activity during the night doctors may not actually be working

 if doctors should work hours which are beyond those set out in Jersey law, they are given time off in order to ensure they accord with the law.

HSSD currently seeking to make additional appointments so resident on-call will become 1 week in 9 weeks.
