Question
Will the Assistant Chief Minister advise what square meterage has been allocated for the following areas in the latest design of ‘Our Hospital’ –
- Staff Wellbeing;
- Catering and Kitchen;
- Private Patient Facilities;
- Mental Health Centre;
- Knowledge Centre;
- Decked Car Park;
- Theatre Sterile Supply Unit;
- Future Growth Capacity;
- Administration; and
- the total of the above?
Answer
A draft Schedule of Accommodation was approved by the Clinical and Operational Client Group
in late 2020. The Clinical and Operational Client Group is made up of senior HCS clinicians and professionals and is responsible for the clinical sign off of design solutions.
The draft Schedule of Accommodation was produced at the same time as the Functional Brief and used to inform the RIBA Stage 2 design work and Outline Business Case. The RIBA Stage 2 report was published in July 2021 and can be found on Our Hospital website, RIBA Stage 2 report, pages 67 & 68, refers and is also reproduced overleaf. The functional brief and schedule of accommodation are iterative documents that continue to evolve as a result of input from stakeholders including clinicians, Government of Jersey planning experts and consultation feedback on RIBA2 designs from community groups and Islanders, the Political Oversight Group and Scrutiny.
A final schedule of accommodation will be available following approval by the Clinical and Operational Client Group for inclusion in the Planning Application for Our Hospital, which is anticipated to be in November 2021.
