WQ.149/2022

WRITTEN QUESTION TO THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE BY DEPUTY M.R. HIGGINS OF ST. HELIER

QUESTION SUBMITTED ON MONDAY 25th APRIL 2022 ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON TUESDAY 3rd MAY 2022

Question

“Will the Minister state when, in relation to proposed improvements to St. Aubin’s Inner Road, work will be undertaken on –

  1. the introduction of new pedestrian crossings between Mont Félard and King George V Homes;
  2. the relocation of bus stops; and
  3. the realigning of certain car parking spaces so that they indent into wider parts of the pavement and thereby ease traffic flows?”

Answer

As previously stated in my response to WQ.146/2022 the St Aubin’s Inner Road Board considered options for several potential pedestrian and bus stop improvements on the St Aubin’s Inner Road which had the potential to be developed through stakeholder and community engagement.

The Government’s decision to pursue Overdale as the preferred location for the Our Hospital development has significant implications for traffic on the St Aubin’s Inner Road. Once the Our Hospital application and programme for this development is determined I intend to reconvene the Board to review and progress the pedestrian and bus stop improvements on the St Aubin’s Inner Road.
