ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON MONDAY 20th MAY 2024
Question
“In respect to the hospital catering unit located at St. Peter ’s Technical Park, will the Minister detail what equipment maintenance arrangements exist, including how often the air filters are cleaned?”
Answer
The Hospital Catering Unit located at St Peter’s Technical Park is maintained by the Health and Community Services (HCS) Estates team. There are 127 Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMs) carried out at various intervals during a 12-month period.
As stated in a response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request Carbon filters at the hospital catering
unit (FOI) the Carting Unit users filters on its ventilation system are changed every six months as part of the above HCS PPM programme. The biannual change is more frequent than that recommended by the manufacturer in consideration of the neighbouring residences. At these biannual checks, filters have been noted to contain signs of food grease and are disposed of appropriately.
