How do you find out about the work
of the States Assembly? - Mainly through the JEP and television and online searches through the States website - primarily BBC 1 Supplemented by radio - either BBC Radio Jersey or Channel 103.
Is enough information available about meetings
of the States and Scrutiny? I don't think so. More use of modern media required. Bring it to life for the public.
Do the proceedings receive enough coverage? No - not enough information re what is coming up, the public hearings etc etc.
What are your views on having audio and/or
visual recordings of meetings? Yes for some of the major hot topics - e.g. Energy From Waste public hearings, Environment review. Edited highlights would be optimal.
Should these be available to view on the Internet? Yes
Do you have an opinion on the use of blog sites? Yes they should be there for each committee. We use blog sites in our investment industry. Important is the feedback received.
Who do you believe to be the media'? More and more 'e' media - i.e Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Weblinks, Blogs, Webcasts. Traditional media (press, TV, radio still have a place for those not 'e' enabled or 'e' literate but electronic media will dominate in the next 7 to 10 years.
PS I'm delighted to see Scrutiny on Facebook - well done to all involved. Please push ahead and make sure people know about it.
I hope this is useful. Best Regards
Alex
