Dear Minister and Assistant Minister,
Follow up Review: Assessment of Mental Health Services
I write to inform you that the Health and Social Security Panel has agreed to undertake a follow up Scrutiny Review into Mental Health Services in Jersey.
The review will question the Minister for Health and Social Services, the Minister for Children and Education, the Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services (with political oversight for Adult Mental Health Services) and the Assistant Minister for Children and Education (with political oversight of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)).
The terms of reference of the review are as follows:
- To assess progress against the recommendations from the Panel's review Assessment of Mental Health Services (S.R.4/2019) that was published on 6th March 2019.
- To determine the impact of COVID-19 on the provision of mental health services.
- To assess how the £500,000 of additional funding for Mental Health Services, as approved by Amendment 9 to the Government Plan 2022-2025 (P.90/2021), will be used.
- To consider the impact and outcomes of the Independent Review of Adult Mental Health Services in Jersey', published on 19th November 2021.
Our Officer will be in touch with your Department about arrangements for a public hearing and we intend to send some initial queries by way of a formal letter shortly.
Please note that we intend to invite submissions from relevant stakeholders and we will publicise our review so that members of the public can submit information or views.
