Phase1A of the new Sewage Treatment Works (STW) was completed in November 2022 with the decomissioning of the old STW. The remaining works are on programme and expected to be commissioned by October 2023. The demolition of the old STW has been completed. The overall STW Project Completion is expected before the end of 2023 as planned and within the allocated budget.

Review the Inspiring Active Places strategy, and produce a range of options for future developments of sport and wellbeing community hubs for the Island to be delivered as part of the IAP Programme. Following the opening and ongoing resolving of snagging issues at Springfield, the focus of IAP has returned to Oakfield. The Oakfield refurbishment and frame and fabric construct went back out to tender w/c 26/06 following on from a previous tender where the preferred supplier entered administration in early 2023 resulting in the new tendering activity.

New Skateparks - Work planned for this year comprises; Les Quennevais Skatepark - Pavilion Alterations, Floodlighting and minor improvements in response to feedback since opening, St Helier Skatepark - Feasibility work, planning application and design, New North Quay Skatepark - Decommissioning.

Minor improvements, including replacing of wood chip at Les Quennevais Skatepark is on track and scheduled to be complete before the school summer holidays. The pavilion alterations are behind schedule due to contractor availability. Floodlighting installation is planned for autumn this year.

Feasibility work for St Helier Skatepark is progressing and we are hoping to confirm a preferred site by the end of Q3. Following a request from the Minister for Infrastructure and Assistant Mininster for Infrastructure / EDTSC (Sport), Springfield is now being considered as a possible site.

Plans for decommissioning of New North Quay Skatepark in January 2024 in line with the temporary planning permission for this facility are underway.

We will be considering the appropriateness and future of Fort Regent in light of changing economic circumstances and Islanders needs

Work has commenced on a structural review of the roof structure. Future Places Ministerial Group have discussed the project, and will further reconsider the direction of the Fort, following the structural assessment. The States of Jersey Development Company have been requested by Ministers to assess possible regeneration options.

Park is now open for use as an empty field. Access is provided via a temporary scaffold ramp from the existing Park.

Funding was not provided in the 2023 - 2026 Government Plan, nor has the business case been supported for GP 24-27. Initial concept works and consultation have been completed, but until funding is granted, this project is effectively on pause.

That being, feasibility work is complete, options have been appraised, a preferred option identified and the design of the preferred option developed up to a level required for planning purposes. If funding is granted, work will be continued to complete detailed design, planning and enabling works in 2024 and construction of the main works over 2025 and 2026.

Taxi provision at airport has improved as result of one tier system, which has given all taxi-cabs access to airport and harbour public ranks.
