Deputy Helen Miles ,

Chair, Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel

By email

8 November 2024

Dear Chair,

Re: Timeline for changes to Control of Housing and Work Regulations

I wish to update the Panel of changes to the proposed timeline for bringing forward new Regulations under the Control of Housing and Work (Amendment) Law 2012.

It was my initial intention to lodge the Regulations and have the debate before the end of 2024, however, to ensure that the proposed Regulations are comprehensive I have now committed to allocating more time towards law drafting. Consequently, I  have  revised  the  timetable for  this  work  and  will  now  seek  to  lodge  these Regulations before the end of the year for debate in early 2025.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer the Panel a private briefing on the proposed Regulations at their convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Deputy Carina Alves

Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister
