Deputy Mary Le Hegarat
Minister for Justice and Home Affairs BY EMAIL
16 October 2024 Dear Minister,
Follow-up matters from the Public Hearings on 9th October 2024
Thank you for attending the Quarterly and Budget public hearings last week, together with your Officers, your time is much appreciated. During the hearing the Panel was advised that it could be provided with:
• further detail for the capital projects, with a timeline if possible.
• further details about the total cost and previously reported shortfall of costs in respect of Dewberry House.
• the full task tracker in relation to the Violence Against Women and Girls Taskforce (in confidence);
• information on how Legal Aid is determined.
• the new Gas Response Plan (in confidence).
We would therefore be grateful if a further update could be provided to the Panel in this regard. Briefings were also offered to the Panel about:
• the plans for the Fire and Ambulance Headquarters; and
• the work to assess the corporate structures relevant in an energy outage, which is relevant to the Minister's role as the Competent Authority for fuel, electricity and gas.
I would be grateful if arrangements could be made via our Officers to secure future diary dates.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. The Panel looks forward to your formal response and would request this is received by Wednesday 23rd October 2024.
Yours sincerely,
Deputy Catherine Curtis
