Follow up Information Request

The Panel met on 7th May 2024 and agreed to seek further information in relation to a number of workstreams as follows:

Recruitment of a permanent Chief People and Transformation Officer

The Panel wishes to understand the process to recruit a permanent appointment for the Chief People and Transformation Officer role as such please can you clarify the process involved.

Further, can you confirm if the permanent role has now been recruited to as it is our understanding that  an  interim  position  has  been  held  following  the  departure  of  the  Chief  People  and Transformation Officer last year. (At a public hearing in December 2023, it was heard that the recruitment process for a permanent replacement would take several months to complete).

During the previous hearing in December, it was also heard that the role may be restructured to address particular operational challenges in order to better balance the operational and strategic functions of the role. Please can you provide detail regarding the work undertaken, if any, in that regard.

Teachers Pay Dispute

Further to a letter received by the Minister for Treasury and Resources on 10th April 2024 in relation to the allocation of reserve funding for the Teachers Pay Award, can you please detail the decision-making process, particularly given this decision pre-dated the formation of the States Employment Board.

States Employment Board Meeting Agendas

The Panel understands that the provision of States Employment Board meeting minutes will not be provided unless requests for specified meeting minutes are made by the Panel. However, it notes that agendas for meetings are not available publicly. Therefore, can you please provide all agendas for the meetings of the current States Employment Board.

Ministerial Response – Proposed Government Plan 2024-27 Review [S.R.4/2023]

Can you please provide an update on the progress of the Ministerial Response to the Proposed Government Plan 2024-27 Review and confirm when the Panel can expect to receive it and when it will be presented.

The Panel would appreciate a formal written response detailing this information by no later than Monday 20th May 2024. Please be aware that it is the Panel's intention to publish the response it receives on the States Assembly Website.
