27th March 2024 Dear Chief Minister,

Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel

Ministerial and Legislative Priorities – Further Detail Request

The Panel met on 26th March 2024 and upon discussion of its work programme and a letter received from yourself on 22nd March 2024, the Panel agreed to request further clarity in relation to a number of workstreams.

The Panel noted the update received on the Proposed Jersey Public Services Ombudsperson Law 202- workstream, however, wishes to better understand the - Government’s intention to progress this workstream, which was a priority of the previous Government or whether the potential to rescind it will be sought.

Further, the Panel requests an update in relation to the Amendments to the Control of Housing and Work Law and the Charities (Jersey) Law 2024, both within the former Chief Minister’s Legislative Programme for 2024, however not referenced within your letter received by the Panel.

The Panel would appreciate to receive a formal written response detailing this information by no later than Friday 5th April 2024. Please be aware that it is the Panel’s intention to publish the response it receives on the States Assembly Website.

Yours Sincerely,

Deputy Helen Miles

Chair
