To note and approve the records of the meetings held on 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 22nd, 26th and 29th May and 1st June 2020.

SCRUTINY REVIEWS

  1. Teacher Recruitment and Retention Review
  1. To note arrangements for a briefing from Mark Grimley, Group Director of People and Corporate Services in relation to work that is being done to examine the cost of living in Jersey and its impact on teacher recruitment and retention.
  2. To agree any additional actions arising from the review and discuss the next steps.
  1. Covid-19 response
  1. To note and discuss the action logs for each Minister within the Panel's remit and to agree any areas or issues to follow up
  2. To note a letter from the Jersey Care Commission in relation to the regulation of children's residential homes during the Covid-19 outbreak
  3. To receive an update on any legislative developments within the Panel's remit in respect of Covid-19.
  4. To review and evaluate the Panel's work to date in respect of Covid-19.

To note and discuss proposed changes to the deployment of tasers by States of Jersey Police Officers and agree any actions.

To discuss the findings of the survey and agree any further actions.

  1. Change of name and remit of the Panel

To note that the Panel will now be referred to as the Children, Education and Home Affairs Panel under standing orders as per agreement by the States Assembly.

To note the Panels next meeting is due to take place at 10:15am on Monday 22nd June 2020 via Microsoft Teams.
