MINUTES, HEARINGS AND BREFINGS

  1. Records of Meetings

To note and approve the records of the meetings held on 4th of March.

  1. Quarterly Public Hearings
  1. To note the Panel is due to receive the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs for a quarterly Public Hearing at 10.00 am on Wednesday 24th April 2024.
  2. To note all of the 2024 quarterly Public Hearings agreed with the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning.
  3. To discuss topic areas for the Panel's question plan for the hearings scheduled for April 2024; and
  4. To discuss methods of public engagement for the hearings.

SCRUTINY REVIEWS

  1. Draft Children and Civil Status (Amendments) (Jersey) Law 202- (P.104/2023) To note the publication of the Panel's report on 13th March 2024 and discuss any

further action.

  1. Draft Children and Young People (Jersey) Commencement Act 202- (P.2/2024) To note the publication of the Panel's comments paper on 15th March 2024 and discuss

any further action. 5.  Secondary Education Funding Review

To review and, if thought fit, approve the draft engagement document for support in relation to the Secondary Education Funding Review.

ADMINISTRATIVE / OTHER MATTERS

  1. Training opportunities

To discuss further training opportunities with the Committee and Panel Officer.

To  review  any  recent  Ministerial  Decisions  and  Reports,  consider  any  items  of business for forthcoming States meetings which fall in the Panel's remit and consider any questions that the Panel may want to ask.
