| 1. Minutes of Previous Meetings The Sub-Panel approved the minutes of the meeting of the 3rd July 2006. |

| 2. Action Updates The Sub-Panel noted the action updates. The Sub-Panel agreed to ask the Department of Social Security what model the department is using to calculate the rates of Income Support under the new proposals. The Sub-Panel further agreed to request a breakdown of the components under the proposed Income Support system. Deputy Southern informed the Sub-Panel that he would be asking written questions of the Minister for Social Security in the States on the Crisp Report and related issues. | CA CA | |
| 3. Public Hearing The Sub-Panel noted the timetable of witnesses at the Public Hearing on 25th July 2006. The Sub-Panel noted the call for evidence' advert and the Chairman informed the Sub-Panel that she had subsequently given an interview to a section of the media. The Chairman further informed the Sub-Panel that she had subsequently been contacted by members of the public who wanted to share their experiences of claiming Welfare. |

Adviser The Sub-Panel noted that, despite further efforts to secure other expressions of interest, only Dr. Martin Evans from the Department of Social & Policy Sciences, University of Bath, had indicated his availability to undertake the role of adviser. The Sub-Panel reiterated their satisfaction in Dr. Evans' CV and list of publications and agreed to appoint him as their adviser for the course of the review. The Sub-Panel further agreed to send Dr. Evans background information relating to the review. The Sub-Panel agreed to invite Dr. Evans to their next meeting on Monday 24th July and further agreed that if Dr. Evans was unable to attend to arrange to meet with him before the end of July. | CA CA |
