1. Minutes

The Panel agreed to defer consideration of the Minutes of its meetings held on the 10th August 2009 and the 17th August

2009.

2. Depositor Compensation Scheme The Panel agreed the following actions:

  • a written update on visits to Isle of Man and Guernsey;
  • all  outstanding  action  points  to  be  dealt  with  by  the Chairman for the next scheduled Panel Meeting;
  • to contact the Panel's Advisor to consider a possible visit

to Jersey the week commencing 14th September 2009;

to  contact  Senator  A.  Maclean  and  OXERA  for  a

possible  Public  Hearing  the  week  commencing  14th September 2009;

to  contact  Jersey  Bankers  Association  for  a  Public

Hearing the week commencing the 14th September 2009;

  • to contact the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) for a Public Hearing the week commencing the 14th September 2009.

The Panel noted that the Panel's Advisor, Mr J. R. Labrosse of Patterson and Labrosse Financial Consultants Ltd, Canada had not yet returned his copy of the contract and engagement brief to the Panel.

The Panel considered an oral update from the Chairman on his visit with Deputy G.P. Southern to Guernsey. The Panel was advised that a written update on fact-finding visits to Guernsey and the Isle of Man would be available at the next scheduled Panel Meeting.

3. Future Meetings

The Panel noted that its next scheduled meeting would take place  at  9:00am  in  Le  Capelain  Room,  States  Building,  on

Monday 7th September 2009.

The Panel further noted the Public Hearing at 9:15am on Monday 7th September with the Viscount followed by a second Public

Hearing at 10:00am with the Chief Executive of Jersey Finance and Chief Executive of Standard Chartered.
