1. Jersey Innovation Fund

The Panel welcomed the Minister and Assistant Minister for Treasury and Resources, Treasurer of the States and Deputy Chief Executive Officer,  Economic  Development,  to  discuss  the  work  undertaken  to address and implement the recommendations of the Panel's recently published report, ahead of the debate scheduled for 30th April 2013.

The Panel agreed that, should the first phase of the Innovation Fund be approved by the States on 30th April, it would begin to scope a Review of the second equity' phase, proposals for which would be due to be lodged within 6 months of the launch of the Fund.

2. Work Programme

The Panel considered its possible future Reviews following completion of its initial work on the Jersey Innovation Fund. It agreed to further consider, and undertake additional background work where required, the following areas to determine its revised Work Programme:

  • McKinsey Review (Finance Industry)
  • Enterprise Strategy
  • Financial Services Ombudsman
  • Locate Jersey
  • Ports of Jersey Incorporation
  • Retail Framework
  • Rural Economy Strategy
  • Jersey Business
  • Jersey Gambling Commission
  • Channel Island Airspace Review
  • Jersey Shipping Registry

The Panel was also mindful that it would be undertaking follow up work
