1. Records of Meetings

The Panel approved the records of its meetings held on 17th December 2012,  and  3rd  9th  and  14th  January  2013,  which  were  signed accordingly by the Chairman.

 

 

2. Ports of Jersey: Hangar8 PLC

Following  concerns  raised  in  the  States  Assembly  by  some  States Members, the Panel welcomed the Group Chief Executive Ports of Jersey for a briefing on matters relating to the tendering process for the contract to construct and operate a new hangar at Jersey Airport, which had been awarded to Hangar 8 PLC.

3.  Privileges  and  Procedures  Committee:  Machinery  of Government Sub Committee  

The Panel welcomed the Chairman, Deputy M. Tadier , and members Deputy J.A.N. Le Fondré and Deputy J.H. Young of the Machinery of Government  Sub  Committee  for  discussion  of  the  Sub-Committee's interim report. Deputy J.A. Hilton attended on behalf of the Health, Social  Security  and  Housing  Scrutiny  Panel,  and  passed  on  the apologies of its Chairman who was unable to attend.

4. Jersey Innovation Fund

The Panel met its adviser to discuss key aspects of the Review to date and to establish its next steps. The Panel noted that the adviser would be meeting officials from the Economics Unit, Treasury and Resources Department  and  Economic  Development  Department,  later  that afternoon, to further discuss technical aspects of the proposed JIF. The

 

 

adviser would present a written report to the Panel on those meetings.

The  Panel  further  noted  arrangements  for  Public  Hearings  with representatives from Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Jersey Business and Digital Jersey, scheduled to take place on 6th February 2013.

 

 

5.  Draft  Financial  Regulation  (Disclosure  of  Information) (Amendments) (Jersey) Regulations 201-

The  Panel  considered  draft  Financial  Regulation  (Disclosure  of Information) (Amendments) (Jersey) Regulations 201- that had been forwarded by the Economic Development ahead of its lodging. The Panel agreed that it would request a briefing from the Department to further explore the context and intentions of the draft legislation.
