1.  Record of Meeting

The Record of the Sub-Panel's meeting held on 21st June 2013 was approved.

2.  Correspondence

The Sub-Panel considered correspondence relating to the draft IT Skills Strategy from the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture to the Sub-Panel Chairman, and noted the wording of an oral question to be asked by the Chairman of the Minister at the next States sitting.

 

 

3.  Future Meetings

The next meeting of the Sub-Panel was scheduled for 22nd July, 10am, Le Capelain Room, and it was agreed that it would be a priority to receive a briefing from the Minister or delegated Assistant Minister for  Education,  Sport  and  Culture  to  establish  the  timetable  for publication of the IT Skills Strategy.

4. Background Briefing – Chief Executive Digital Jersey

The Sub-Panel welcomed the Chief Executive of Digital Jersey, who provided  a  background  briefing  on  the  work  and  vision  of  the organisation. It was noted that it would be beneficial for a similar briefing to be held with the Chairman of Digital Jersey's Education and Skills Technical Action Group, to better understand the organisation's liaison with the Education, Sport and Culture Department.

It was agreed that Digital Jersey would be a key witness during the Review, and would be invited to submit evidence formally once the Review had been publically launched.
