2. Historic Buildings

During the quarterly public hearing with the Minister for Planning and Environment the Panel was informed that the department would be appealing  the  recent  landmark  judgment  by  the  Royal  Court  in respect of planning controls on historic buildings, which could have significant  implications  for  the  department's  policy.  The  listing process would be put on hold until the appeal had been heard. Members subsequently agreed that in the circumstances the Panel's proposed review of historic buildings policy should not go ahead.
