1.  Records of Meetings

2. Digital Skills

It was noted that the Digital Skills report had been presented to the States  and that formal  Ministerial  Responses  were  expected  to  be presented by 29th September.

3. Tourism Shadow Board

The  Panel  received  a  briefing  from  the  Economic  Development Department  on  the  progress  of  the  implementation  of  the  Tourism Shadow Board's recommendation to replace Jersey Tourism with a grant  funded,  independent  organisation.  It  was  noted  that  the appointment process for the role of Chief Executive Officer for the new organisation was scheduled to begin in September, with the intention of an appointment being made early in 2015.

4. Jersey Innovation Fund

The Panel welcomed the Chairman of the Jersey Innovation Fund to its meeting, and discussed progress to date of the Fund and its future outlook. It further discussed the lodged a Proposition of the Minister for Economic  Development  regarding  the  remuneration  of  the  Jersey Innovation Fund Board.

5. Retail Policy Review

The Panel considered Ministerial Responses presented by the Minister for Planning and Environment, Minister for Treasury and Resources and Minister for Economic Development. It was noted that a Response from  the  Minister  for  Transport  and  Technical  Services  was  still

 

 

awaited, and agreed that this should be followed up by its Officer.

6. Legacy and Annual Reports

The Panel considered and approved its Legacy Report and Annual Report 2014.

 

 

7. Future meetings

The  Panel  noted  that  its  Quarterly  Hearing  with  the  Minister  for Economic  Development  would  take  place  on  8th  September,  and approved the associated topic areas. It further noted that a site visit to Digital Jersey had been arranged for 10th September, and that its next regular Panel meeting was scheduled to be held on 16th September.
