516/1(51) | 4. Home Affairs Work Programme The Panel noted the Home Affairs work programme, along with an explanation of certain aspects of the document supplied by the Department. Consideration was to be given for the need for scrutiny to be undertaken in any area and for Members to report back at the next meeting. | SP/ MleT/ MR |
516/1(51) | 5. Education Work Programme. The Panel noted that the Education Department had failed to provide it with data regarding the department's work programme, therefore it was not possible for the Panel to decide where it was to focus attention. This was considered an inauspicious start to what was hoped would be a good working relationship between the Panel and Department of Education, Sport and Culture. The Chairman intended to discuss this with the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture at a scheduled meeting over the following few days but in the meantime the Department was to be advised that this was not acceptable. The preparation of a few lines to explain the work programme would not have been onerous and the information was essential for the planning of the Panels work during the short time available before the elections. Should information prove difficult to obtain for the Panel, the Chairman was to obtain it by asking questions in the States. | SP / MR |
| 6. Panel Meetings The Panel arranged dates for its future meetings until the end of July 2014. The next meeting was to be at 0930hrs on Monday 3rd March 2014 in the Blampied Room. It was also noted that a private briefing was to take place provided by the Minister for Home Affairs at 0930hrs on Thursday 13th February 2014 at the Home Affairs Offices. | MR |
