| The Panel welcomed two apprentices who were members of the Trackers programme being run by the Education Department. Both of the individuals concerned had responded to a request for apprentices to contact the Panel to discuss the programme. The meeting was held in the evening, to prevent disruption to the working day of the apprentices and it was held at the Jersey Art Centre, in order to provide an informal and neutral venue for the discussions to take place. |

| Both the apprentices came from differing backgrounds and had very different and specific needs from an apprenticeship. Both were near to the end of their apprenticeship period and were enthusiastic about the provision of service the programme had delivered. They were particularly keen about the system of Mentors and considered that to be the key function in the high success rate of the programme. |

| The Panel thanked the witnesses for their contribution. |
