1.  Records of Meetings

The minutes of the meetings held on the 13th, 16th and 17th March 2015 were approved for signing.

2.  Conflicts of Interest

The Panel considered that there were no areas of conflict that had not previously been declared.

 

 

3.  Budget

The Panel noted that both the reviews currently being undertaken were within budget.

4.  Prison Board of Visitors

The Panel noted that the request for public submissions had received one response to date. The public hearing with the Minister, which was to be held at on 20th April 2015, was discussed and the process of questioning was agreed.

The Panel agreed to meet during the morning of Monday 27th to debrief on the hearing and decide on the way forward.

5.  Special Education Needs Provision

The Panel noted that requests for public submissions had resulted in several submissions to date. The visit to some of the Island schools had been very useful and provided the Panel with evidence of the Special Education needs processes being provided. The Drop-In' meeting had also been successful.

It  was  considered  that  letters  should  be  sent  to  specific  groups to encourage them to provide evidence to the Panel.

It was decided that this matter should be discussed at a meeting on 27th April when the Chairman was to be back in the Island. The Public Hearing with the Minister on the 11th May  was noted. It was also observed that as two of the Panel Members were to be out of the Island during the week prior to that hearing, the questions and planning was to

6.  Future Meetings

The  Panel  noted  the  next  meeting  was  scheduled  for  9.30am  on Monday 18th May 2015 in the Blampied Room.
