23/04/15 Item 5 517/1/1(4) | 1. Zero Hour Contracts and Living Wage Reports The Panel had recently received two reports, one regarding zero hour contracts and the other regarding living wage. Both reports had been received from the Social Security Department, however it was noted that the Chief Minister's Department had also been involved in the development of the living wage report. The Panel discussed both reports and noted that the living wage report was more complex. The Panel agreed that the briefing it was due to have with the Social Security Department on Thursday 7th May would focus primarily on the living wage report. The Panel noted that the briefing was due to start at 9:00 a.m. The Panel was advised by the Vice-Chairman that he had issued a response to the media as an independent States Member in relation to the zero hour contracts report. The Officer advised that if the Panel was to undertake a review into the matter, the Panel only would be required to correspond with the media in all future instances. |
