Item 1 23.03.16 511/2/1 | 1. Domestic Property Transactions The Panel discussed the written submissions received to date. The Panel requested a second call for evidence be undertaken to target members of the Public and any other stakeholders that may have overlooked the previous call. The Panel also requested research be undertaken on the Home Information Packs (HIPs) that were previously marketed in the UK and Scotland to understand the benefits and pitfalls of the scheme. The Panel recalled a document published by the Law Commission in 2002 regarding Property Law and requested a copy be circulated. The Panel asked that a meeting be arranged with Mr P. Harben, Partner at Collas Crill who had written to the Panel following its call for evidence. The Panel noted Mr Harben had recently driven the re- formation of a Law Society Conveyancing Sub-Committee. | JH |
