1.  Records of Meetings

The Panel approved the records of its meetings held on 26th and 28th September  and  10th,  18th  and  21st  October  2016.  The  Chairman signed them accordingly.

2.  Draft Budget Statement 2017

The  Panel  reviewed  submissions  received  from  the  Chamber  of Commerce and Jersey Civil Service Association. The Panel also noted receipt of a submission from the Channel Island Tobacco Importers and Manufacturers Association.

It was agreed to follow up with other stakeholders to enquire whether they still intended to make a submission and in particular, to see if the Jersey Hospitality Association would prefer to attend a public hearing.

The Panel agreed that the main focus of its report was likely to be on the following areas:

  • The impact in rises in Impôts on private sector businesses
  • The position of the Strategic Reserve, taking into account transfers  in  and  out  and  the  amount  of  headroom  for proposed future drawings

The Panel also discussed the proposed capital programme for 2017 and the officer was asked to research whether this was in line with the programme previously agreed.

The Panel noted recent Ministerial Decisions and agreed that no further action was required.

 

 

 

4.  Future Meetings

The Panel confirmed its next scheduled meeting would take place on 28th November 2016 at 9.30am.
