1.  Records of Meetings

The Panel approved the records of its meetings held on 7th, 8th and 13th June. The Chairman signed them accordingly.

 

 

2.  Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for External Relations

The  Panel  welcomed  Senator  P.M.   Bailhache ,  Minister for  External Relations,  Ms  K.  Nutt,  Chief  Officer  External  Relations  and  Mr  D. Walwyn, Director, External Relations to a quarterly public hearing. The hearing was recorded and transcribed

3.  Jersey International Finance Centre (JIFC)

A verbal update on the progress of this review was provided to the Panel. The Panel discussed the likely timeframe for completing the review and how to communicate this to stakeholders.

The  Panel  noted  receipt  of  a  letter  from  the  Assistant  Minister  for Treasury and Resources regarding provision of information requested by the Panel. The officer was asked to prepare a response.

The Panel asked for further information on current costs for the JIFC development  to  be  sought  from  the  Department  for  Treasury  and Resources.

 

 

 

4.  Question Plan

The Panel discussed its question plan for the forthcoming hearing with the Chief Minister on the MTFP Addition and requested a draft be circulated for further discussion.

 

 

5.  Panel Work Programme

The Panel discussed its work programme and agreed it would revisit it once  its  review  of  the  MTFP  Addition  was  complete.   The  Panel discussed Population and Migration and Brexit as possible reviews.

6.  MTFP Addition

The  Panel  received  a  private  briefing  from  the  Chief  Minister,  the Minister for Treasury and Resources and the Treasurer of the States regarding the MTFP Addition.

 

 

7.  Future Meetings

The Panel confirmed its next scheduled meeting would take place on 8th July at 9.30am and would include a public hearing on the MTFP Addition with the Chief Minister.
