Item 1 20.07.16 516/36(3) | 1. Medium Term Financial Plan Addition The Panel met and discussed how it intended to proceed having held the public hearings. It recognised that it did wish to visit the library and a date for such a visit was to be arranged. In discussing the meetings with union representatives, it was recognised that the Panel still had to meet the Police and Fire Service Association representatives. The Panel set various tasks for the review. In realizing that some of the savings would impact directly on children in Jersey, the Panel decided to contact Professor E Wood, who had assisted them in a previous review, to establish how a reduction in pay for newly qualified teachers might impact on Jersey children, recruitment and retention of teachers and how pay was ranked by teachers. The Panel approved £600 per day for two days work, should she accept the engagement. The scoping document was to be amended and sent to Chairmen's Committee to reflect this change. The Panel recalled that it intended to take a summer break during most of August and cancelled its provisional booking for a meeting on 15th August 2016. | MR MR MR |
