1.  Immigration – Transfer of Functions and Powers

The  Panel  received  a  briefing  from  Departmental  Officers  on P.26/2017, Immigration (Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2017: Extension to Jersey by Order in Council.

Following the briefing, it was agreed to write to the Chief Minister to request that the debate of P.26/2017 be delayed to enable the Panel to conduct a review.

It was agreed that, due to the ongoing review of Electoral Reform 2017 and the workload of other Panel members, Deputy S.M. Brée would lead the review.

2.  Quarterly Hearing

The Panel discussed the question plan for its quarterly hearing with the Chief Minister on 18th May.

Item 1 08/05/17

3.  Future Hospital Funding Strategy

It was noted that information requested by the Panel in relation to the amended Future Hospital Funding Strategy had not yet been provided by  the  Treasury  and  Resources  Department.  The  Officer  was requested to follow this up as a matter of urgency. If the information was not forthcoming, it was agreed to write to the Minister for Treasury and Resources to express the Panel's disappointment in the time taken to respond to the request.
