Item 5 06.02.17 | 3. Visit to Police Headquarters The Panel accepted an invitation to visit the new Police Headquarters building for a tour of the premises during April 2017. The date was to be agreed. It noted that arrangements were being made for a briefing on the new Police SMART System and a date was suggested. Prison Board of Visitors The Panel noted draft legislation in the form of an amendment to the States of Jersey Police Force (Jersey) Law 2012 that had been supplied to the Panel for consideration and which was to be lodged in the near future. The date was to be established and consideration was to be given to the need for a public hearing to air the matter in public. It was noted that the proposed changes instigated the one recommendation contained within the Prison Board Of Visitors Scrutiny Report, S.R. 9/2015, namely that the Prison Board of Visitors be constituted with members who were independent. | MR |

It agreed that the report should go out to stakeholders for factual checking in line with the Code of Practice for Scrutiny Panels.
