Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978 Reform The Panel considered the areas of interest might be outside the remit of the Panel and recognised that the areas were more in line with the remit of the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel. An approach would be made to the Chairman of that Panel to establish how best to approach the concerns over medicinal use of cannabis. | TV |

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service The Panel discussed a letter that had been sent to all States Members from the Chairman of the Fire and Rescue Service association that outlined concerns relating to pay and pensions, which, if not resolved, might lead to industrial action. The Panel agreed to ask a question about this at the quarterly public hearing with the Minister for Home Affairs which was due in March. | MR |

Police Headquarters The Panel decided that a visit to the new Police Headquarters building would be useful in order for the Members to understand how the Police Force will operate from its new HQ. The Panel further agreed to lodge an oral question for the Minister for Education at the next States sitting. Tertiary Education: Student Finance The Panel approved the draft report from the Panel Advisor and received the final report from Resilience Development who had undertaken the workshops in the schools. The Panel noted that it was ready to draft its report for the review and approved a draft heads of report', which outlined the basis of how the report would be drafted. It agreed that the report should be ready for presentation to the States by mid-March. | MR |
