1. Records of Meetings

The Panel noted and approved the records of its meetings held on 12th and 16th January 2017. The Chairman signed them accordingly.

2. Service Users of Home Care

The Panel received a draft report from the Officer on the Service Users of Home Care review. The Panel agreed changes to the draft report and the Officer advised that a final draft would be circulated in due course.

3. Living on Low Income Proposition

The Officer advised that Brighter Futures, Centre-Point, Jersey Women's Refuge and the Jersey Child Care Trust had been contacted to ask for further information on how the benefit reduction had affected single parent families. The Panel accepted an invitation from Brighter Futures who had asked whether the Panel would meet with some of the users of the service. The Officer advised that a meeting would be arranged in due course.

The Panel also requested that the St Helier and St Clement Parish Support Teams were contacted to ask whether any users of the service would be willing to speak to the Panel.

4. Mental Health

At the meeting on 12th January 2017, it was noted that the Panel had requested the Officer to contact various agencies dealing with mental health matters in order to identify initiatives and progress of the service. The Officer distributed information that had been received to date. It was noted that the Youth Enquiry Service had invited the Panel to visit the service which the Panel accepted. The Officer advised that a site visit would be organised in due course.

5. Quarterly Hearing Question Plan

The Panel noted that it was due to hold a Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services on 23rd February. The Panel

 

 

 

agreed on several question areas for the Minister and agreed that the matter would be discussed again at the next meeting.

6. Labour Market Report

The Panel requested the Officer to find out when the next Labour Market report would be published by the Statistics Unit.

7. Long-Term Care Scheme Review

The Panel agreed to undertake a review of the Long-Term Care Scheme. The Officer advised that some background research would be undertaken in the coming weeks and a draft Scoping Document would be completed for discussion at the Panel's next meeting.

8. Future Meetings

The Panel noted that its next scheduled meeting would take place on 9th February 2017 at 9:30a.m in the Le Capelain room, States Building.
