1. Records of Meetings

The Panel noted and approved the records of its meetings held on 8th, 14th and 15th June 2017. The Chairman signed them accordingly.

2. Long-Term Care Scheme

The Panel met its Panel's advisor, Professor M. Johnson , for a debrief session regarding the meetings with departmental Officers held on 28th June.

The Panel agreed that Professor Johnson would visit Jersey in due course for a meeting with the Panel's second advisors Ms M. Galpin and Mr G. Bennet from BWCI and to attend a meeting offered by the Social Work Team regarding the FACE system (Functional Assessment of the Care  Environment)  used  to  assess  clients  for  the  Long-Term  Care Scheme.

The Panel noted that several Public Hearings had been organised to take place at the end of July with representatives from care homes and homecare agencies.

3. Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for Social Security

The Panel received the Minister for Social Security and her Officers for a Quarterly Public Hearing. The proceedings were recorded in order that a transcript could be made.

 

 

4. Brexit Review

The Panel noted that the President of the Chairmen's Committee would establish a Review Panel to review the work of External Relations in

 

 

 

relation to Brexit. The Chairman had previously expressed an interest in joining the Review Panel and therefore his membership was confirmed.

5. Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services

The Panel discussed possible areas of questioning in relation to the Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services on 27th July.

The Panel noted the forthcoming Propositions due to be debated in the States which fell within its remit.
